Welcome to Zennor Protect
The Parish of Zennor is one of the world’s oldest enclosed farming landscapes. Patterns of small irregular shaped fields bounded by Cornish granite hedges, pre-historic in origin, stretch along the coastal plateau. Behind them, the hills, topped by granite tors, rise steeply to the rugged windswept moors which are dotted throughout with ancient archaeological remains of national importance. These moors and the coastal plateau, with its dramatic steep cliffs dropping into the Atlantic Ocean, are what give our particular landscape its distinctive character and make it a special place for us.
This landscape is an essential part of our surroundings, an expression of the diversity of our shared cultural and natural heritage, and a foundation of our identity. It contributes to the special character and sense of place of our community, and it’s preservation and enhancement improves our quality of life. Zennor remains a unique and beautiful place because generations of people have worked to protect and preserve it. Zennor Protect, with your support, hopes to continue to look after this exceptionally beautiful part of Cornwall, not just for local people but for everyone.
